Went for a recent short 2D1N trip to Malacca during Christmas, finally got time to post the pics lol..
The package was quite cheap (I think around $150 plus?) and we got it through Grassland Tours. We chose the Holiday Inn Melaka (see Tripadvisor reviews here) cuz it was one of the better hotels in Malacca.
Waiting for the coach to arrive at Golden Mile in the morning...
As usual i was bored so started taking pics of myself lol..dont puke..
another #selfie
Kelvin always has to entertain me as usual lol..
Finally after about 3 hours later, we finally reached Malacca. Actually frankly, i wasnt too impressed with what I saw lol...like nothing much to see haa..
Holiday Inn Melaka lobby
We booked 3 rooms and only 1 room was ready so we put down our stuff in the room first while waiting for the other rooms to be ready. I was abit surprised the rooms wasnt ready cuz it was almost like 2pm already..
We went to the opposite shopping centre for lunch at some jap place and i didnt take any pics cuz the food wasnt very memorable lol..But we were happy to see there was Boost (the yummy fruit smoothie chain which is sold in Singapore too but more ex!) and Watsons so we bought some stuff which are cheaper in Malaysia.
Finally we got our room after we came back from lunch! Here's a pic of the hotel room..sorry its abit messy..but anyway its ok only haha..And there's really not much of a view lol.
We freshened up and got ready to go out to explore the streets..
our tops make us look so bright and cheery here hahaha
We took the hotel shuttle bus to Jonker street (which was more of a mini van actually) which was pretty near! Maybe about 20 mins walk?
Saw this tricycle decorated with so many Hello Kitties!! In fact, we saw alot of tricycles decorated like that..its abit scary actually if you look closely, they have like dolls and everything hanging there lol.
Jonker Street
We were hungry so we looked for a place to have dinner..The chicken rice ball is supposed to be famous in Malacca so we went to a chinese restaurant which served chicken rice!
our dinner - we ordered chicken rice with veggies, otak and the rice balls..the rice balls are so small lol
The taste was ok only, think cuz it was Christmas most of the food places were closed at Jonker Street so we didnt have much of a choice hahaha
Passed by this street stall selling dim sum and there were lots of people buying from the stall so we decided to buy some to try. It tasted pretty good! in fact much better than the chicken rice hahaha..and very cheap!
Check out the super brightly decorated tricycles with their neon lights and blaring loud techno music..super happening!
After that we went back to the hotel for the night..Next morning, hotel breakfast time!
some pastries but i didnt try them..
they served fried carrot cake, eggs in various styles (omelette, sunny side up, scrambled etc)..the hotel breakfast wasnt too bad and was happy it was included as part of the hotel package..
After that Cindy and I went to the hotel pool for a quick swim..
the view from the pool wasnt very nice so i had to take this pic of the pool at a angle so it looks nicer (like the MBS infinity pool) :D
After dipping at the pool for a while, we headed opposite to the shopping mall for some last min shopping!
oooh i look so young here..buay yao bai i know..
Oh here comes the highlight of the Malacca trip - Nadeje!
They serve fantastic Mille Crepe cakes which are like the best yummiest cake i've ever eaten!
look at the many layers in the mille crepe
Interesting fact of the day: Mille crepe actually means thousand layer crepe
we had to take some pics with the crepe cake..i mean of course rite? haha any reason to take pics..lol..wonder when i'll get tired of taking pics..maybe one day when im old and ugly ;/ so better take more now (not that im very pretty now la)
