Colony At The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore - Review

One of the best buffets I had in 2015 was the Christmas buffet i had at the Colony At The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

The Colony replaces the old Greenhouse at Ritz Carlton (I have been to Greenhouse once to celebrate my birthday with Kelvin) and by far, this is truly one of the best buffet places in SIngapore. I thought the spread at the Carousel buffet at the Royal Scotts Hotel was good but after trying the Colony, gosh I've realized that it cant compare at all with the spread at the Colony!

The decor was colonial style and very eclectic looking with lots of vintage pictures hanging everywhere

Lots of little nooks and corners, i liked it that there was a mix of seating options available ranging from the little booths to the comfy couches. It gave a very homely feel to the whole place and my colleagues had an enjoyable time sitting there for hours while enjoying our buffet.

Beautiful flower centerpiece

And the food choices - goodness! We were spoiled for choice, there were so many live cooking stations and the buffet area was humongous!

Choice of salad toppings - wide variety of toppings to choose from

Chefs hard at work shucking fresh oysters non-stop to satisfy the cravings of the ravenous crowd

My favourite sashimi!! I can never get enough of fresh salmon..mmmm yummy

If i were a mouse, i'd be in cheese heaven with the wide range of cheese options available lol!

Ham shavings and other fresh meat slices (think that is parma ham??)

Another gorgeous centerpiece

It was Christmas so of course we cant do without the traditional turkey and honey baked ham !!

There were also local delights like chili crab, laksa with lobster ball and Zha Jiang mian! I must say the crab meat wasnt alot though, i guess crabs are expensive!

The zhajiang mian was very good actually, one of my colleagues took 1 bowl and we shared it haha

The best part of all? The buffet had freshly squeezed fruit juices!!This is one of the rare buffets where I got to drink my fill of fresh juices! Usually buffets only provide water and coffee/tea.

The juices were nicely packaged in bottles which you could just grab one and takeway to your table. The variety was also really good, they had mango juice, orange juice, passionfruit etc.

Desserts - I'm not that big of a fan of desserts but the selection was very good i must say! There were all sorts of cakes including cute mini carrot cakes, star shaped cookies topped with icing, christmas pudding and loads of ice cream!

I had vanilla ice cream and some sorbet with raspberries at the side :)

So if you are looking for a really good buffet to try out, do try out the new Colony at Ritz Carlton!

The prices came up to about S$80+ per pax after taxes (there was a credit card discount for DBS) which is really quite reasonable given the spread!
