Xmas family trip to Genting - Dec 2014

During the Dec holidays, my mum asked me if I wanted to go with my granny and other relatives to Genting.

Since my company had a shutdown till end of the year and the hotel rooms were free (Genting always has ongoing room promos for members), i thought oh well what the heck why not! So yeah, this was my 2nd trip to Genting since like Oct when I went with my mum and bro lol.

We took the coach up, my mum booked it through WTS travel cuz they had some promo but i wont take their coach up again, so lousy their buses! We took the coach from Textile Center at 8pm and it was the same old coach bus again with no personal entertainment set plus it was like creaking noisily all the way up.  I didnt manage to sleep again (as usual) so was happy when we had a break at the usual Yong Peng stop where we had some food to eat.

When we arrived, it was early in the morning ard 5ish and the rooms weren't ready but luckily my uncle had booked 1 room the day before so we could at least leave our luggage there. I was like a zombie though cuz i didnt get any sleep at all, i'm someone that cant function much when I dont get enough sleep even for 1 day :( I dont know how pple who can take it when they sleep only 2-3 hours a day! I remember it passed by as a blur and luckily in afternoon,i took a quick nap when we finally could check-in and felt much better after that.

The First World hotel where we stayed at had Christmas decorations done up which was not too bad. Saw alot of pple taking photos haha.

We also passed by Genting Grand hotel and there was this pretty xmas tree done up. I wish we could stay at this hotel one of these days, im abit sian of staying at First World becuz their rooms are like not very nice compared to Resort and Genting hotel. I rem last time when i was much younger that we could get to stay at these hotels back then when it wasnt so hard to book (my relatives said the GPs used to redeem the hotel stays there were much lower and now we so poor thing, keep downgrading from Genting hotel to Resort to First World hotel now haha). But oh well, our rooms were complimentary so maybe we shouldnt complain hahaha

we had dim sum at one of the chinese restaurants, there was a long queue cuz of the christmas season

yummy dim sum

we ordered chicken feet, siew mai, prawn roll etc

my granny and relatives tucking into the food

selfie with my mum lol

During the trip, i played slots as usual (that's the only thing i know how to play lol) and it wasnt very fun cuz my money kept getting eaten up by the slots machine :((

I did some shopping at the shops there (before all money was gone) and managed to get some good buys! Got 2 pairs of shoes from vincci and some cosmetics from Sasa/Watsons so quite happy with my purchases :D

Bought a pair of earrings so took a selfie to show it off lol.

Took some pics of the shopping mall and shops

they were playing loud music from this bar, which we could hear from our rooms at nite!

Genting seems to be going through a lot of changes which is good since they are revamping the amusement park and hotels which were quite old.  Below is the view from our hotel room where you can see all the construction works going on:

It was good spending time with my mum and granny during the trip.

Had breakfast with my granny and mum at Hainan Express a couple of times during the trip, their coffee is really good and their eggs/toast set was super yummy ^^

My mum had a free meal voucher that came with the room bookings so we had lunch at one of the restaurants where we redeemed the voucher.

We grabbed a table with a nice view of the clouds (or is it fog?) from our seats.

we chose the chicken rice and braised pork rice set

We also tried the buffet dinner at First World Cafe for the first time since we saw the promos in the hotel lifts and it was only RM 37 per pax. I used my Reward Points to redeem and we ended up paying only RM 41 for 2 of us which is really cheap man. That's less than 8 sgd bucks per pax i think??

buffet spread - they had alot of indian vegetarian dishes as well as mixed rice with meat and veggie options

i took their porridge with the dishes and i think the best dish they had was the chicken wings! They were so yummy and alot of pple kept lining up to get more.

Took a pic with my mum using the pic in pic mode on my Samsung S4

It was a short trip but it was good and i dont mind going back soon next time hahaha
