Friends are friends forever

I'm so blessed to have many good friends in my life.

Friends who have been with me since young and through many of my ups and downs in life - from school days when we were young to now when we are all old (hahaha ok not that old la) and trying to decide what we want to do in life in terms of career and personal life.

One of my closest friends ever -Syn Min. We've been friends since primary 1 i think when we attended the same church, she's someone whom i really click with and can talk about anything under the sun - friends, shopping, work, life, issues, relationships, family, travel etc.  A lot of people used to think that we are sisters cuz we are always together and our chinese names are similar and some pple have commented we look alike even (though i cant really tell, maybe its the long hair? lol)

I missed her alot for the past few years when she was overseas in China but now she's finally back in Singapore for good (yay!!).

Sha - one of my oldest and bestest friends. She's one of the nicest and kindest person i've ever known. We met in primary 5 i think when we were in the same class (which was the only time we were ever in the same class even though we were in MGS for 10 yrs!!). I remember she was so sweet, always thinking about her friends and listening to me when i was very depressed or something at school (as always im always moody and feeling low lol).  We've done a lot of things together - i remember we went to Genting together when we were in sec school and Japan a few years back, took jap lessons together at some CC and we even worked at the same company! She also accompanied me to be an extra when we were in school and wanted to earn extra cash lol.

I enjoy meeting up with her and Christine for our regular dinner meetups at Balestier though I wish we had more time to do more things together because we've been pretty busy at work and i'm sure we will!

My dear friend Christine. We met each other through Sharon in secondary school and immediately bonded because of our common interests - our pimples!! Lol..we had such bad skin in sec school cuz of all our raging hormones as we used to say and it was our common goal to get rid of our acne and we even went to my friend's dad who was a skin doctor at Glenagles to treat our skin.. Thank God we made it and our skin is much better now (even though we still have kits sometimes!!) hahaha..I remember we used to hang out at McDonalds after school at KAP and got to know some boys from Chinese High (yucks!!!) and it was hilarious thinking about the crazy stuff we did back then. Christine is now very happily married with a cute baby girl and dedicated to taking her of her little girl. V happy for her cuz its like her lifelong dream to be a mum with many kids lol..

Other good friends like Leech and Mokky are all part of my growing up days in school and i wish we could catch up more cuz they are all busy with their families and kiddos.  There's Limin also, who is my sister's best friend and we also enjoy travelling and catching up over movies and dinners.

I thank God for blessing me with such good friends when i was growing up and also for great colleagues!

Ex colleagues from Pricoa whom i still meet often every time to celebrate our birthdays

I'm also thankful for current colleagues (like SP and Empress) whom i've gotten to know in this last year at my new company. SP is someone whom i feel very comfortable with and we share about personal things as well as work stuff which mean alot to me. Because of her, I've started joining marathons (she got me started running at JP Morgan race!) and also doing community work through our company events. Now we've even started taking yoga lessons with Empress as Bishan CC recently hahaha..

They say life is like a taking a bus ride, people get on and get off at different stages of your life. Some get off early and some stay longer..but they all make a difference to you as they touch your life in different ways. To end off this poignant post, here's the lyrics from my favourite song when i was growing up as a teenager!

Michael W. Smith - Friends Are Friends Forever

Packing up the dreams God planted
In the fertile soil of you
Can't believe the hopes He's granted
Means a chapter in your life is through

But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end

Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends

With the faith and love God's given
Springing from the hope we know
We will pray the joy you'll live in
Is the strength that now you show

But we'll keep you close as always
It won't even seem you've gone
'Cause our hearts in big and small ways
Will keep the love that keeps us strong

And friends are friends forever
If the Lord's the Lord of them
And a friend will not say never
'Cause the welcome will not end

Though it's hard to let you go
In the Father's hands we know
That a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends
