I left my heart in San Francisco - Part 5

San Francisco

We were supposed to catch our flight from Vegas to San Francisco late morning but somehow due to some silly mixup, we arrived too late at the airport and missed our flight!! This was the first time I ever missed a flight lol..

Anyway to cut the long story short, we managed to purchase tix for the next flight out to SFO on Virgin America and it was premium class so we had a super comfortable flight there (even if it was just for an hour plus!)

The seats were like made of leather and they had individual inflight entertainment (which is not that common for domestic flights i think) plus their headphones are super groovy!

They also served delicious snacks and drinks on board and everything was included in the price (which again imo is uncommon for US domestic flights) so I was pretty amazed!! Was abit sad when we finally arrived at SFO actually cuz the flight was so comfortable haha.

We checked into our hotel (Parc 55), i was expecting a little more from the hotel actually cuz it was recommended by my ex colleague and its used for SQ crew. The hotel room was pretty small and really not much of a view. Maybe our expectations were raised after staying at such a nice hotel room at Wynn in Vegas and its hard to match that haha. Well at least the hotel was right smack in Union Square near the shopping and shops so the location was at least a plus point.

Walked around Union Square and took the obligatory pics that a tourist would ;p One thing I noticed is that the clouds move very fast in San Francisco! And it was very cold (even though we went in summer!) cuz of the cold winds.

Macy's (Its like our Robinsons or Takashimaya)-their clothes are on the more expensive end and not really my style too..

Neiman Marcus (another high end US department store)

The classic American hotdog stand on the streets

Grabbed a coffee from Starbucks because it was too cold and we needed a drink to warm us up

Sightseeing bus which will take you around SFO

Tried to take some pics with Limin and the wind was soo strong my hair kept flying up!

At first i thought this window display was just showing an assortment of car plates..

But when I looked from far, i realized its the US flag!

The famous San Francisco cable car.

Interesting fact: It's the world's last manually operated cable car system so you should definitely take a look out for it if you are here in SFO

Cheesecake Factory - OMG their food is to die for I tell you!!!

As you can see there is a long queue to get a table (and we were there ard 3pm plus!). We had to wait about an hour for our turn but it was definitely worth the wait!

All sorts of cheese cakes

Don't be mistaken, they serve more than just cheese cake though. They have main courses and salads and appetizers etc.

We ordered this salad with cheese shavings and rocket leaves and it was simple but yummy

Portabello mushroom beef burger with sweet potato fries

Sirloin steak with creamy potato salad on the side

Strawberry cheesecake to finish off the delicious meal.  This is really one of the most delicious meals we had in US!We liked it so much we came back again for dinner lol.

Tour of San Francisco

We purchased tix for the sightseeing bus which was convenient since we can hop off to visit the various attractions and hop back on the bus again

cute little kids going for some class i think

Fisherman's Wharf & Pier 39

Kelvin saw this and was very excited to see the fishes at the aquarium so we bought tix lol.

The aquarium was pretty nice but I think the SEA aquarium at Sentosa is much better and bigger!

The famous Fisherman Wharf famous for its seafood and clam chowder!

We were hungry so decided to grab lunch at one of the cafes at Lou's Shack

Clam Chowder bowl

After lunch, we walked around more..

The infamous Alcatraz Island

Ben & Jerry's ice cream!

their poor staff had to dress up in these cow outfits

The next day, we  took the sightseeing bus again to take in the city

historic quaint Victorian buildings - hmm i wonder how does it feel like staying in one of these houses

Painted ladies at Alamo-Square - one of the most photographed locations in San Francisco

City hall building or something

The famous Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco

The golden gate bridge is really cool! Always read about it and never thought i would see it for myself :D

Panoramic shot of the area

   Oops I blocked Kelvin haha

After all the cam whoring, we waited for the next bus to come by to pick us up..

And waited..

It was freezing cold i tell u! so we were huddled up in our hoodies while waiting

not sure if you can tell from my expression how cold i was lol
