It's a tradition for my 2nd aunt and uncle came over to my granny's house on Sundays. They would usually buy some food like you tiao and butterfly buns from the hawker nearby..

My auntie was telling me today that they managed to rent out one of their rooms at their flat and the tenant was moving in from Vietnam today. I'm happy they finally found a tenant, i placed an ad at ST701 to help them rent out their room cuz anyway nobody's staying there anymore..My older cousin has gone to work in China with his wife there and my younger cousin has just moved out after getting her own flat.  Before this, they got lots of calls but from couples and i tink my auntie didnt want cuz they only want a single tenant..

My granny and auntie were saying jokingly, "ah min ah, next time you get married and move out, you won't be ah mah house anymore how? Nobody to help us already leh"

i've been sort of helping my relatives with random stuff like helping them renew their passport online, rent out their room, selling stuff on ebay etc.. i dun mind helping people, cuz to me , why not? if i can help someone by doing a simple thing and it makes their life happier or easier, im happy to do it..imo, if we can all do something small that can make a difference to someone, the world will be a happier place ;p its like there's a cheap thrill when you know you can save $ by doing certain things yourself, like getting free caller ID from tyour mobile operator, saving on giving rent commission lol...

Of course there are disadvantages, like pple may take it for granted and will keep asking you for help..some others may think, what's in it for me to help that someone? Or worse still, sometimes when you help people, they may blame you if things go wrong..

Hmm now to think of it, i know of alot of relatives and friends that rent out their rooms..i want to be a landlord too! Cant wait to have my own place..
