Wedding preparations update

With our wedding coming up in abt 1 year's time, I realized there's so much to do.

Searching for an ideal venue to hold the wedding (outdoor or indoor), deciding which bridal studio package to take, which photographer to engage, whether to engage a wedding planner etc. Gosh no wonder weddings take like at least 1 year to plan lol..

Wedding Venues:

We have been looking at the various wedding dinner packages and there are so many to choose from. Initially i thought that we would be limited in our choices cuz we only have less than 2o tables, but i didnt realized most hotels do cater for small weddings.

Hilton Hotel
Was quite disappointed with the Hilton hotel in Singapore, its not even as nice as the one at BKK.

The hotel was ok only, didnt get the wow feeling when we stepped into the hotel lobby. There's like a shopping centre inside the hotel and so many people walking about the hobby. The ballrooms were so so. The pricing for Hilton is pretty ok, for the weekend package its 1018 nett per table but too bad we dont really like it. Oh yes, and it didnt help when we heard abt the recent news of a bridegroom who died on his wedding nite at Hilton ;o so tragic..

Grand Hyatt

Was very keen on Grand Hyatt actually, cuz I heard that their food is pretty good. Their pricing for weekend was also quite reasonable..

The Camellia room is the only room that can be used for tables less than 180 guests, and there are like pillars in the center of the room blocking the view so not v nice :/ The carpeting also looks abit old when we viewed the room but not sure if it was due to the lighting (it was split into 3 rooms for a meeting that day we viewed it). But maybe we need to view the function room when its setup for an actual wedding so we will arrange to view one day and see how it looks

Four Seasons
Very posh and exclusive feeling when we stepped into the lobby. The ballroom was not bad, it has a private foyer which is very nice.. But the wedding coordinator was abit atas and put us off abit with the way he talk..The price also very posh ;O

On Friday Sha and i went to Christine's house to watch movies, had a veri nice time with them. We ordered in KFC and mixed our own weird concoctions of vanilla ice cream with Kaluha, baileys and orange vodka and coke lol.

The movies we watched were good, 500 days of summer and I love you, man. The funny thing is, they both featured weddings in the movies haha..is that a coincidence or wat lol...i love american weddings, it seems they are all held at some garden or lawn and everybody dances after that with a jazz band playing music in the background..so cool..thinking of having this concept too for our wedding but dont think my relatives and friends will dance leh..Not a very Singaporean thing lol..

On sat, Kelvin and I went to the outdoor park wedding event held at Hort Park, it was quite interesting! It was my first time going there, i think its the nicest park among all the national parks. There was a fashion show, bridal boutiques showcasing their bridal packages, outdoor caterers who provided free food sampling...

Flower decorations

Bridal Fashion show (most of the pics i took are from the WhiteLink collection)

Outdoor caterers

The deco abit too pink man..

Was quite keen to check out WhiteLink's package actually, read quite a few good reviews in the forum about it and saw their dresses featured in the wedding mags.. In the end, we were quite happy with the package they offered so we signed up. So one thing off our checklist to do, the next thing is to settle on the place by end of Dec!

Going to view Sentosa Spa and Resort and Mandarin Oriental next..Supposed to check out Sheraton and also Grand Park City hall also but still waiting to hear back from them ;/
