Here is a review of my recent flight from SIN to TPE on Starlux, I have always wanted to try it out after reading the review on The Milelion and finally I had the chance to travel on Starlux on my recent trip to Taiwan.
The one - way flight cost from SIN to TPE was less than SGD 300 per pax and it was well worth it! To be honest, it's soo much better than SQ - both in terms of the hardware and service levels.
There were 2 options to choose from for the lunch menu and I chose the prawn penne pasta option which tasted quite good. It came with a smoked duck appetizer and a cake dessert which was delicious as well. I was impressed by the fact that the cutlery was in metal vs the cheap wooden cutlery used on SQ economy short haul flights!
There was also a wide range of beverage selections available onboard - including their signature Twilight Mojito cocktail drink (which was very good!) along with other drinks like Screwdriver (alcoholic) and Whiskey Coke, Apple Sparkling and Green Tea special.
Mixed rice crackers snacks were served alongside drinks shortly after takeoff.
Even their toilet was impressive! It was like galactic themed with blue back-light and full sized toilet amenties including moisturising lotion and facial mist from IDUN minerals.
Highlight of the flight for me was the gigantic 13 inch 4K ultra HD screen (yes in Economy class) and it was so shiok to watch movies on a high resolution screen up in the air >.<
Seats are from Recaro in elegant dark grey and beige colours which was very soothing and looked modern.
The flight crew were very professional and friendly and it was a fantastic experience travelling on Starlux!
