Finally posting my pics from my recent taipei trip. Really too many pics, it really takes alot of effort to upload all the pics lol.
Day 1: Taipei
Day 1: Taipei
We arranged the airport transfer through the rainwbow hotel for NTD 1500. When we arrived at the Taipei airport, there was a lady holding up a sign with my name.
Quite shiok to see my name, but they got my chinese name wrong =( the min was written wrongly but then again, alot of pple get it wrong lol. The lady brought us to the driver who was waiting outside with the van.
Inside the van
The driver told us that the journey to Ximending where our hotel was would be slightly less than 1 hour. The surrounding area near to the airport is not very nice, looks quite industrial and run down somehow. We passed by the sea (the driver said China was on the opposite side) and saw huge waves, much bigger than those that we see in Singapore..
took an artistic shot of some windmills using my iPhone app
Ximending
Finally arrived at the Rainbow hotel in Ximending. We checked into our rooms where we would be staying for the next 3 nights.
In general, i think everything is very reasonably priced in Taipei. We got a triple room for myself, mum and my bro (around SGD 120 per night). My sis and momo got a double room for themselves (around SGD 100). Ximending is considered a trendy shopping district for the young and good place to stay at in Taipei. It's like Far East Plaza equivalent here. BUT the difference is, in Singapore, you cant even get a hotel room at low budget hotel like Hotel 81 in Balestier for this kinda price.
our triple room with 1 single bed and a double bed. the room is decent enough for the price.
When in taiwan, must drink milk tea! my bro and I bought the milk tea from a milk tea place right outside the hotel. Not that fantastic but ok lah.
Ximen MRT station
Passed by this trendy bus decorated with a huge picture of xiao zhu.
street stall selling japanese snacks
We were walking along the streets inside Ximending when I noticed alot of pple running and cameramen walking very fast.
I was thinking wahh, izzit some taiwanese celebrity since alot of them come to Ximending to film some food variety show and true enough guess who i saw walking pass me?
.....
Jacky Wu!
Tried to take a shot of him but he was walking so fast with his entourage that i only managed to get a very blur shot of him, he's the one in red pants and wearing a hat. Behind him, i saw a large crowd of pretty girls and handsome guys walking behind him, also all walking very fast..dunno where they gng though lol.
i love grace! my sister i mean hee
Had lunch at some 2nd floor western cafe cuz we had no idea what to eat, food was ok only though.
we walked around, did some shopping..
oh yah i was freezing the moment we stepped foot in Taiwan..i thought since the weather only 10 over degrees in Taipei, should be quite ok. so silly me, i brought only slippers and sandals and tank tops. Only brought 1-2 long sleeve tops, my grey hooded jacket and my mango jacket. I was so wrong!
It was so bloody cold i couldnt take it.. so i went around hunting for a pair of boots to wear during the whole trip. My mum too went to buy a pair of boots hahaha...
Shida Night Market
Took a cab to the Shida night market to buy some street food and do some shopping.

tried the mee sua with da zhang at a roadside stall, didnt really like the taste of the pork is super strong, its like the taste lingers in your mouth even after eating finish..yeeks..
When we got back to ximending, went to buy some milk tea.
this guy was carrying a cute doggy, but the owner ermm..yeahh..
my bro asked me to take a pic of him posing cool.
Went to buy some oyster omelet.
